  19. Thanks to all who have contributed suggestions on my problem
  20. with the flat polygons.  It turns out that my problem was 
  21. more directly related to Basic Carelessness: I didn't toggle
  22. the "Smoothing" button under the surfaces menu.  Once I did
  23. that, the image rendered just fine.
